Delia is the Principal Percussionist of York-based new ensemble, Dark Inventions. She regularly records and performs with the group, championing new music and commissions, particularly from British composers.
'Almost Credible Music Ensemble' is a 'new music collective' specialising in championing contemporary classical music and commissions, particularly involving analogue technology and "noise", of which Delia is Principal Percussion. Highlights include a BBC Late Junction "Exposure Series" session, Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, Spor Festival (Denmark) and Café OTO
Delia is the Senior Lecturer in Percussion at the Leeds Conservatoire and the Module Coordinator and Lecturer for the Reflective Practice Module on the classical course
Delia is one of the National Youth Orchestra's lead creative practitioners (recently running a songwriting project in collaboration with Kabantu and the poet Gabriel Akamo for NYO's "Hope Exchange" project).
Delia has been a tutor coaching the percussion section since 2017
A charity founded by Yehudi Menuhin to bring music into people's lives who might not usually be able to access it; Delia worked with them extensively for 6 years with them on projects such as DaDa Fest, Pupil Referral Units, Special Needs Schools, Care Homes for the Elderly.
Young, aspiring and inspiring musicians based in Suffolk. Delia has been on the audition panel, delivered weekend rhythm courses and week-course on Steve Reich music and with Kabantu on creative, collaborative music making.
Kabantu were invited as Guest Artists (alongside artists such as Anoushka Shankar, Mark Simpson and Newton Faulkner) for Yolanda Brown's Band Jam
As part of her work with LMN, Delia enjoyed a 3-year residency on the Oncology ward, using music with cancer patients under the age of 18. She also works on the Paediatric Neurology Ward for children with brain injuries and the Orthopaedic Ward for children with broken bones.
Delia works for Brighter Sound with Kabantu running a monthly residency aimed at 4-8-year olds called "Junior Jam" who have also been booked by organisations such as CBBC.
Delia worked with Band on the Wall's Brighter Sound on CBBC's Summer Social at Media City, Salford, running a weekend of "Junior Jam" junk percussion workshops for children of all ages in Summer 2017.
Delia co-led the Young DaDa Ensemble for 2 years. Featuring young people with special needs who are interested in developing as musicians.
As a percussionist in the Joe Duddell Ensemble, Delia accompanies artists such as Daughter, Cathal Mo Chroi AKA Chas Smash (The Madness), Tim Burgess (The Charlatans), New Order, Jackie Oates (BBC Folk Musician of the Year), Mike Garry (poet) and Jake Evans in studio and live performance settings.
