Sinfonia Cymru - AlgoRhythms curated by Delia Stevens

Sinfonia Cymru (ACE NPO) commissioned percussionist Delia Stevens to curate a chamber music concert at Cardiff’s Tramshed Tech; AlgoRhythms explored algorithims, data collection, censorship & echo chambers. During AlgoRhythms, Delia had an audience-driven debate with local tech entrepreneur Steve Dimmick (Doopoll Ltd.) around the curation themes.

Radio Five Live

August 2016

In 2016 the estate agent Bruntwood sponsored Tatton Garden Show and commissioned an "office garden" design. In order to bring this further to life, they had live performances from the Royal Exchange and also Delia, improvising on office equipment. This was brought to the attention of Five Live and subsequently Delia travelled to the studios in Salford and performed an office equipment improvisation live on air. 

Wigmore Hall Recital

Delia will make her debut solo performance at London's prestigious Wigmore Hall as part of an evening showcasing the winners of the RNCM Gold Medal Competition, the highest accolade the conservatoire offers to soloists.

Dorman Concerto with Beethoven Academy Orchestra, Poland

Delia has been invited to perform in the 'Last Night of the Proms' in Krakow this September. She will be performing Avner Dorman's 'Frozen in Time' with the Beethoven Academy Orchestra. She will also be playing a short solo percussion set in the second half.

RNCM Gold Medal Competition Winner

Delia was announced as a winner in the prestigious and highly selective Finals of the RNCM Gold Medal Competition, the highest platform the conservatoire offers for soloists, which sees 10 virtuosic performers compete for this coveted annual award. 

RNCM Concerto Competition Winner

2013

Delia won the prestigious RNCM Concerto Competition open to the entire conservatoire over two rounds. She went onto perform the Dorman percussion concerto "Frozen in Time" with the RNCM Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Carlos del Cueto

BBC Proms

August 2013

Delia gave a solo performance in the BBC Proms Plus Series in the Royal College of Music Concert Hall in London, broadcast live on BBC Radio 3. She performed the world premiere of ‘Blue Blues’ for marimba by Edward Cowie to great critical acclaim.

Evelyn Glennie Public Masterclass

October 2010

World-renowned percussionist came to the Royal Northern College of Music to give students a masterclass open to the public. Delia performed Casey Cangelosi's 'Naglfar' for multi-percussion setup in the RNCM Concert Hall.

Keiko Abe Masterclass

October 2012

Esteemed Japanese marimbist Keiko Abe gave students of the Royal Northern College of Music a public masterclass. Delia played 'Prism' for marimba in the RNCM Concert Hall, a piece Abe wrote herself.

Creston Marimba Concertino

July 2010

Having won the Junior RNCM Concerto Competition, Delia performed the first ever concerto written for marimba, the Creston Marimba Concertino, in the RNCM Concert Hall in Junior RNCM Performance Day accompanied by Junior RNCM Symphony Orchestra and conducted by Ewa Struinska.

Avner Dorman Percussion Concerto

May, 2012

As a winner of the RNCM Concerto Competition, Delia performed Avner Dorman's percussion concerto 'Frozen in Time' for marimba, vibraphone, glockenspiel, crotales, almglocken, darabouka and multi-percussion setup with the RNCM Symphony Orchestra Conducting Junior Fellow Final Concert under Carlos del Cueto.

Vivaldi Recorder Concerto arr. Vibraphone

March 2012/December 2013

An arrangement Evelyn Glennie popularised, this recorder concerto is also very successful on the vibraphone. Delia performed Vivaldi's Concerto for Recorder RV443 arr. vibraphone with the Scholae Buriensis Ensemble and to a sold out Manchester Cathedral with Manchester Police Band.

BBC Young Musician of the Year Category Finalist

2008/2010

Delia reached the televised Percussion Category Finals in both 2016 and 2018 of the BBC Young Musician of the Year Competition
